Costco is preparing to open a new 155,000-square-foot warehouse in The Colony’s Grandscape development, with the location set to debut in October 2026. The company is currently hiring for all positions ahead of the opening.

The new store will be located near the corner of Spring Creek Parkway and Grandscape Boulevard, adding to Costco’s growing footprint in North Texas. The warehouse club operator did not list an official opening date on its website.

During its May 28 earnings call, Costco reported a revision of its new store opening target to 26 new locations for the year but reaffirmed its long-term goal of opening 30 or more new warehouses annually. Our real estate operations team continues to focus on increasing our pipeline of new warehouses both domestically and internationally, Costco President and CEO Ron Vachris said during the call.

Costco has over 900 locations worldwide with more than 80 million paid members. The warehouse club offers two membership options: the Executive Membership at $130 per year and the Gold Star Membership at $65 per year.

The Colony location is part of Grandscape, a 400-acre mixed-use development that has attracted major retailers and entertainment venues to Denton County. The area has seen rapid growth as North Texas continues to draw corporate relocations and residential expansion.

Costco’s expansion in Texas comes as the state remains one of the fastest-growing markets for retail and commercial development. The company’s decision to add another North Texas location underscores the region’s continued population growth and consumer demand.

The new warehouse is expected to create several hundred jobs and generate significant tax revenue for The Colony. Costco typically becomes a major draw for surrounding retail and restaurant businesses when it opens in a new market.
